Happy Lunar New Year

Uncategorized February 1, 2014

Anyone do anything to celebrate the Lunar New Year??

In Korea you eat lots of food (which means lots of work for the girls!) and play this fun stick game called yutnori. Unfortunately the hubs’ and my schedule didn’t really match up so we didn’t do too much to celebrate. But we did have time to eat the food I’ve been cooking up the last couple of days. Not the most traditional, and I ran out of time so I forgot to even make my ddeok guk (rice cake soup) which is the one thing you are supposed to eat on New Year’s…oops. But I have had this dream of having a fridge full of Korean side dishes and that dream today is realized. So I am  happy camper.

I’ll prolly post a couple of these recipes later at my food blog: Korean Mutt
