So I’m all about “me time.”
Back in college when I was working every day at like 3am I would take 10-minute power naps on my break and felt more energy afterwards. Same thing when I run. I always end up starting my runs too fast and my shins are pounding by the time I finish my first mile. So I stop for one minute, stretch my muscles out, and once I start again I feel like a million bucks. I figure taking quick me-time breaks have the same effect for if I ever feel mentally burnt-out.
In college the vending machine was my me-time savior. Whenever I started falling asleep studying in the library I would run to the next building over, grab a small snack (or a big one…), and get back to it. It was deliciously effective for me ^.^
Right now I’m in Vegas visiting my Momma and Papa (yay!) and my mums is in some serious need of me-time. My Momma is the coolest. She grew up on a country farm in post-war Korea. If you ever go to a Korean folk museum, the farm tools and such that they have on display are all things my Mom used haha. Poor Momma’s been busy taking care of newborn grandkids, holiday planning, scaling palm trees (haha!) and volunteer work. Apparently she lost eight pounds last month and if you look below you can see she doesn’t exactly have eight pounds to lose!
So on my drive here I stopped at Safeway to grab this People and Hershey’s thinking that my Momma could take it and give herself a relaxing break. FYI I bought King size but I should have gotten two…gotta help my Momma gain back those 8 pounds lol!
Anyways we sat by the pool and enjoyed the warm Vegas sun, it was a good time.
Be good to your Mommas (and yourself) my friends. Happy Thanksgiving!
P.S. Check out the bottom for a treat!
