Thailand Part 1: Bangkok & Chiang Mai

Uncategorized March 9, 2015

We’re on day 4 in Thailand and having some fun.

My favorite highlights:

-visiting the Damnoen Saduak floating market. Some reviewers say it is too touristy but we don’t buy that, we loved it. Took a ride on one of the boats, ate lots of yummy fruit, and the boys introduced me to mangosteen, nom!

-the boys wanted massages while shopping in Bangkok, so while they did that I got eyelash extensions for an awesome price. Life saver! It’s so hot and humid that I can’t possibly wear makeup, so the eyelash extensions keep me somewhat presentable.

-Elephant-riding in Chiang Mai at Ran-Tong Elephant Training. This place has amazing reviews and was recommended by some friends as well as our hostel which said they’ve never had anyone dislike it. It was tons of fun; the workers were awesome and they seem to treat the elephants extremely well here. We got friendly with our elephants by feeding them, did a couple of short rides all bareback, yummy Thai lunch in between, and at the end got to swim with them! It was too cool.
