My favorite cardio by far is running. I think I started enjoying it in college when I decided to do a marathon. It was just a bucket list thing, but I enjoyed it enough that I kept on doing it. I had never run more than 6 miles before that marathon so it was exhilarating to know that I could push myself that far. After that I did a few fun runs, and once we moved to the Bay Area the first thing I did was sign up for a half marathon in San Francisco. It’s something I had always wanted to do and was my favorite race to date.
The one problem with running as a hobby is that I have bad knees and I hate wearing headphones while running, so I can get bored and discouraged doing longer distances. So for me, the thing that keeps me going is a good trail. I absolutely love going into San Francisco to run the plethora of awesome trails there. You could probably run every day for a month just in Golden Gate Park and never get bored because it is so huge with so much to see. In this post I went to Land’s End, which is right on the coast and so beautiful. There are both paved and dirt trails, stairs and hills to train on, and lookout sites to stop and rest with a great view. Hubs and I stopped at the top of one hill and a tourist there told us that if we looked carefully we could see a whale! It came up every once in a while to breath, spraying water, and it was the coolest thing. If you guys like to run (or even if you don’t) you need to put San Fran on your bucket list.
There is one race this weekend (today actually! 5/17) that I wanted to sign up for but unfortunately Sundays are a busy day for me. But it’s called Zappos Bay to Breakers. There is actually a Zappos race in Vegas that I was interested in, but I didn’t realize they had one right here in San Fran! The thing about Zappos is that they are based in Vegas where my parents live so I know that they host awesome events on top of their awesome site. Huge fan of them because they have free shipping, all the brands I love, great customer service, and tons of products including athletic wear. If any of ya’ll are in the San Fran area, you should check out the race because it’s gonna be a fun one, they are doing this thing where they try to break as many records as possible. I’m talking stuff like “longest distance someone balanced a spoon on their nose” or “most runners dressed in metallic spandex” haha. I feel like it almost might be more fun to watch than participate lol. Definitely need to get in on this race next year.

Haha I think it's partially genes. Some people are born runners. I know a girl who has run 26 marathons, probably some ultra runs, and loves it. I could never run that much, I would hate my life. Good luck with cycling~~ you should def find a cycling partner, that always makes it more fun for me or else I don't get much use out of my bike.

I'm always in awe of people who can exercise consistently, and who really enjoy doing things like running. I absolutely hate working out (I always forget to breath and clench my jaw, so I get so lightheaded and nauseous feeing part way through). I keep thinking that I want to start cycling all the new trails that have been put in near where I live, but I lack the motivation. Keep up the great work though!

Oh no, I feel like most people are like that actually. And the thing about Vegas is that people stereotype it because of how they show it in the movies, but it's actually a nice place to live, my parents are in a great suburban area. And considering what a relatively small city it is, it has everything you could ever want–Broadways, 5-star restaurants, nice buffets, possibly the best outlets in the world, Korean stores for my Mom to shop at, etc. Really the only sucky thing is the hot desert summers. So yeah it's pretty awesome, Vegas is one of my favorite cities.
