DIY Love Timeline Book

November is already a fun month for me, but it’s turning out to be extra fun! Guys I was selected as one of the finalists in a contest for my last recipe, my Holiday Confetti Bites! Would so appreciate it if you went to the Mars Social Hub, scrolled to the bottom, and voted for my recipe! Plus when you do, you are entered to win a Kitchen Aid Mixer! You can enter the contest every day, thanks so much guys!

Besides all that excitement, this month is also my wedding anniversary! Every anniversary I always make some sort of photo book for my hubby that documents our past year together. They’re always different–sometimes handmade, sometimes made online, but they always relive our past year’s experiences. For our fourth anniversary I decided to have fun getting crafty. I bought a blank storybook and filled it with our “love timeline.” Check it out below!

It doesn’t require much either, you probably already have almost everything you need for this and can do a quick Walmart run for the rest. For me, I only had to buy the book, Scotch® Double Sided Tape, and some Scotch® Expressions Tape. The Scotch® Expressions Tape is a multi-purpose decorator, so that is really all I used to pretty up my book–I made stickers, borders, and arrows for my timeline out of it. And instead of the double sided tape, if you have the Scotch® Spray Adhesive on hand, that works lovely too. I’m so excited I already have one gift ready for my hard-to-shop-for hubby! Who on your list is hard to find gifts for?

If you check out this site, you can find more homemade gift idea and DIYs!

DIY Love Timeline Book

What you need:
  • blank storybook
  • 2 Scotch® Expressions Tapes
  • scissors
  • Scotch® Double Sided Tape
  • photos
  • fine marker
  • photo corners
  • colored pencils
  • letter stickers (opt.)

Directions:

For the cover:

Decorate the edges with Scotch® Expressions Tape. Make a heart sticker for the center: cut a square of Scotch® Expressions Tape and stick it on a piece of scrap paper. On the back of the scrap paper, draw a heart. Cut out the heart, then peel away the tape from the paper. Place letter stickers of your initials on either side of the heart, or draw them yourself.

For the dedication page:

Find photographs of the two of you with similar-size heads. Cut the heads out and set aside. Draw your bodies holding hands in pencil. Trace with a fine marker, then color in. Attach pieces of Scotch® Double Sided Tape to the back of each head cut-out and stick onto your drawings. Decorate the page with the Expressions tape, and write a celebratory message.

For the inside pages:

To make your timeline, attach strips of Scotch® Expressions tape along the bottom of each page, leaving about 1/2 an inch of space for dates.

Slide photo corners onto your pictures and stick them onto each page, leaving space to write captions. Draw arrows connecting each photo to your timeline, and write the date below the timeline. Cut small triangles out of your second Scotch® Expressions tape and use them as your arrow heads. Write captions for each photo. Continue until done with all your pages.

These books are super cute! I've gotten terrible at printing off pictures over the last couple years and have really been wanting to get photo books done to document it! I love the one you made! It's so cute and personal!

This is adorable! I make a book of all our photos every year, but I really need to be better about putting captions/explanations on the photos.
