Monkey Forest

Uncategorized November 24, 2015

Still catching up on vacay posts. It was the longest trip we’ve ever taken and we just finished editing photos last week, whew!

One of Bali’s famous spots is the monkey forest in Ubud. The park is quite extensive and so beautiful on it’s own; the monkeys are just an added bonus. Going in, I knew I didn’t want to buy any bananas from the vendors. They are wild monkeys and go crazy over food, so I definitely didn’t want to give them a reason to be climbing all over me. They may look sweet, but they have crazy fangs and hiss at you if you try to take a selfie with them (saw it happen). Hubby, though, is much more adventurous than I, and immediately snagged a bunch of nanners. At one point he handed them to me so that he could take a photo, and a monkey immediately tried to climb my body and steal the whole bunch. Hence the funny photo below. I literally screamed, and drew the attention of a park attendant who came up to me and said, “don’t look them in the eyes.” That is verbatim what he said, I kid you not ha! So if you are weak-hearted like me, either don’t buy the bananas or get rid of them quick. But I still whole-heartedly recommend going, the monkeys are funny and the park is gorgeous.

Check out all my other Bali posts on my travel page, and stay tuned for more.

P.S. I am still trying to gather as many votes as possible for my Holiday Confetti Bites recipe! You can go enter a contest for a Kitchen Aid Mixer HERE, and at the same time make sure you choose my recipe photo. You can enter once per day, let’s both win! I so appreciate your support!!

Also, I'm in love with your outfit. It looks like something I'd wear every single day. It's just too bad that Minnesota is so damn cold!

The monkeys look cute, but I'm not really sure what to think about feeding wild animals. I don't think I'm a fan, but that's just me. I'm also against swimming with dolphins, riding elephants etc. I prefer wild animals wild:) Though even if you don't feed the monkeys, I think they can get really curious and thanks for the advice on not to look them in the eyes:)
