Hubby and I talked about doing a Hawaii vacay for a long time so it’s been a blast so far. He often visits Oahu for work and comes back with chocolate toffee macadamia nuts for souvenirs, and stories of scooter excursions and underwater adventures. It was so easy prepping for this trip because we already had ideas of what we wanted to do, and filled in the gaps with recommendations from friends.
From following Malia’s blog, Wandering Malia, I knew that she was an avid hiker and authority on Hawaiian trails, so I hit her up for some suggestions. She gave me the most amazing list, and the Makapu’u lighthouse trail was mentioned as one of her favorites. She said it had even been repaved since she’d last been on it, so it ended up being a perfect mid-afternoon trek for us since it wasn’t too strenuous and offered tons of photo and whale-watching spots.
I saw lots of people using the trail as a workout, either running or fast-walking, but hubby and I just wanted a leisurely stroll so we took our time going up. Which made it the perfect occasion to wear this dress from Novelstyle. I’d been saving it for Hawaii because it’s the perfect little light and breezy dress, and transitions well into night with a denim jacket. I just fell in love with the lacy eyelet design.
