Strawberry Lover’s Snack Mix

One of my biggest weaknesses is munching. Snacks make everything more fun, so I snack when I’m on the computer, watching shows, cooking up recipes, and sometimes when hubby’s on the road I’ll even let snacks take the place of my meals. And since my house is constantly full of baked goods from my kitchen experiments and sugary souvenirs from hubby’s travels, my snacking is not always the best. So I’ve found it essential to keep more filling and better-for-you snacks on hand, and in that spirit I present to you a snack mix full of all my recent favorite munchies!

In my mix are freeze-dried strawberries, roasted coconut chips, pretzels dipped in strawberry chocolate, cocoa-dusted almonds, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Basically I thought of all the snacks I love and combined them into one 🙂 It satisfies both my sweet tooth and inner munchie monster while still being able to stay in line with New Year’s goals.

The chocolate-covered strawberries and cocoa-dusted almonds came together in the new DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut line: they have the DOVE® Dark Chocolate Strawberry & Cocoa Almond that I used, as well as DOVE® Dark Chocolate Blueberry & Vanilla Cashew and DOVE® Dark Chocolate Raspberry & Honey Roasted Almond. I know these were made just for me, I adore dark chocolate. The DOVE® Roasted Almonds in Dark Chocolate are amazing too, another weakness of mine.

Find all this yummy stuff at Walmart – the new DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut in a special display – and check out more recipes here. What are your favorite snacks?? Send some more ideas my way~

Strawberry Lover’s Snack Mix

  • mini pretzels
  • 1/2 cup good vanilla chips
  • 1/8 tsp strawberry extract
  • red gel food coloring
  • freeze-dried strawberries
  • roasted coconut chips
  • DOVE® Strawberry and Cocoa Almond
Directions:
Prep a large pan with parchment paper.
Melt vanilla chips in microwave or double boiler until just soft enough to stir smooth. Gently mix in the strawberry extract and 1-2 drops of red gel food coloring until light pink. Dip in mini pretzels halfway, scrape off excess, and place on pan to harden.
In a medium serving bowl, spread a layer of plain pretzels, then dipped pretzels, strawberries, coconut chips and DOVE® Strawberry and Cocoa Almonds. Repeat until out of dipped pretzels. Enjoy!

I'm not a huge snacker, but I'm sure I would demolish this if you set it in front of me. Yumms!

Oh Yum! Working from home, and with the kids around, snacks can be very tempting. I love the idea of using the DOVE® Chocolate Fruit & Nut to help make a better-for-me snack that I won't feel guilty about! #client

How delicious – and that goes for each and every one of these images (chocolate-dipped pretzels especially!). The packaging of Dove products looks SO much like that of Galaxy chocolate's over here in the UK, how interesting! Have a wonderful weekend Gina 🙂

This looks so good, and pretty too! Typically I'm a sweet snacker–I want chocolate! Although occasionally I like a salty snack too, like Laughing Cow cheese with crackers.

Yum! I love snack mixes. We don't snack much though! So we have to make snacks for gatherings and events or we forget to eat them! 🙂 We getting ready to head to Houston & Galveston soon, have you been? Looking for recommendations on the blog today! 🙂 But, since we are driving maybe I'll have to make something like this! YUM! 🙂 We love Target's simply balanced line of organic/fair trade products. Of all kinds. But they have yummy chocolate covered blueberries and banana chips that have been fun to keep in my desk for a little sweet snack. 🙂 XO – Alexandra
