Baseball Food

Uncategorized October 6, 2015

Who knew you could take a DSLR into a baseball game? Not me. When I went to the Dodgers game last time I very inconveniently left it behind in someone else’s car thinking there’s no way they’ll let me pass since many other sports don’t allow them. But apparently you can have lenses that are less than six inches, so FYI to all you baseball fans.

At the Dodgers game I sat in the all-you-can eat section, so it was all about the Dodgers dog. But this time we went to an Anaheim Angels game and I had fun doing some research on what I should eat. I even planned our seats around my food, haha. We settled on the Legends Dog: a bbq brisket-topped foot-long hot dog from The Smoke Ring BBQ. And bacon grilled cheese from The Big Cheese. It’s heavy stuff but it’s so fun getting into the baseball mood~

Right now we are in Singapore and leaving for Bali soon~ can’t wait to start putting together some blog posts when I get the time. But if you are on Instagram, connect with me here!

Thanks, Gina! I'll have to research some of those lenses 🙂 I just use the lens that came with my Canon Rebel t5i, I'm still a photo newbie haha this was really helpful!

Hey Jamie! What camera equipment do you use? Aperture obviously plays a big part but even just physical distance–getting closer to your sibject–will make more bokeh. If you want really bokeh portraits then I definitely recommend getting a prime lens like 35, 50 or 80mm. Having a lens like that makes it almost like you are standing close to your subject without actually having to, and makes for some great bokeh. You can usually get a 35mm for a great value. I used one on my last body for a long time, it was only 200 bucks and it was a really great lens. But right now we use the Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art lens and it is my absolute favorite. 80mm will get you some intense bokeh but the 50mm is more versatile so you can also get decent landscape shots with is as well. Hope some of this info helps!

I recently went to my first baseball game. Surprisingly, quite fun! Every one tells me AT&T Park has the best food so I will definitely have to catch a Giants game some time!! You should check it out since you're in SF, if you haven't already.

That hot dog looks amazing!! What are your tips for getting that gorgeous blurry background? I've learned about aperture, but can never get that good of a shot when it comes to lifestyle photos.

The food looks beyond delicious! Also, I had absolutely no idea that cameras weren't allowed at some sports over there – though it could well be the case over here too and I just don't attend enough sports events, hmm….

How funny that you planned your seats at the baseball game around food. I had no idea that baseball food could be so gourmet.
