On leg two of my road trip! So here is my second recipe: fruit leather!
This is my favorite recipe of the moment, I ate up all the leather I made within the day >.<
It has no added sugar, just fresh fruit and lemon juice, and it is yummmm and so easy. You can use any combo of fruits, but I used plums and pears that came in my Farm Fresh to You box.
*A couple tips: definitely recommend the plums and pear combo, they made a great pairing and a beautiful color. I’ve also used fruits like Fuji apples that also taste great, but since they are so watery you may need to cook them longer in both steps. And of course apples turn brown, so a tip for battling the ugly brown color is to add a very vibrant fruit like raspberries.
Fruit Leather
Makes one 12×17 inch pan
- 1-1/4 lb.s chopped fruit

Haha "sounds delicious" but is it really it's 5 am and I need to eat something

They're as sticky as any store-bought fruit leather. I haven't tried cutting them smaller than this, especially because I end up eating it all right away, but I would say go ahead and try. They will probably stick together but still be peel-able.

Could yoy cut them into smaller pieces and have fruit bites, or would they stick together too much?

Thank you!

Oh I've been obsessed with them, I always loved my mom's homemade fruit leather but had to find a way to do it without a dehydrator
Gina G says
Because it's low heat it isn't bad at all, and that is honestly the shortest amount of time–other recipes call for up to 8 hours even
Gina G says
Trust me that is the shortest amount of time, I've seen others that take like 8 hours. And it is mostly idle time, so not time consuming at all
