I love Veteran’s Day. It’s a chance to brag about and thank the veterans in my life: my gramps who lost his leg in WWII, my Dad who served 22 years in the Army, my father-in-law who did 20+ years in the Air Force, my brother-in-law currently serving in the Army, and of course my own husband. I won’t say much more because I hate getting sentimental. Suffice to say I have great love and respect for our veterans, and I try to support them in my own way. And here is a delicious way you can support them too:
So Veteran’s Day is coming up this Wednesday (11/11), and in honor of veterans Baskin-Robbins will donate 11 cents from every ice cream scoop sold on Veteran’s Day to the USO* in honor of all service members, veterans and their families! Yay, that means me too! So scrap the sundaes and specialty drinks, and buy as many scoops as you can that day! My hubs is an ice cream savage and loves Baskin-Robbins, so you know I will be treating him (again) on Wednesday. He loves classics like this mint chocolate chip. What is your fav? Make sure to see if your store carries the camouflage waffle cones, waffle bowls and ice cream; sadly mine didn’t, but from visiting Baskin-Robbins’ FB page, the camouflage ice cream flavor seems quite popular.
*If you don’t know about the USO, it’s a huge organization that’s been around for 75 years dedicated to strengthening our military by connecting them to family, home and country, and helping them through deployments and all the different phases of military life. It’s a great organization, definitely worth your ice cream support 🙂
