Remember me talking about going to Vegas for New Year’s to photograph my little brother and his fiance? I actually got to photograph his surprise proposal. He had the ring delivered a few days before and hid it in my camera bag. We pretended to go take some practice engagement photos, and at the very end I asked my brother to help me switch my lens so that he could stealthily sneak the ring box into his pocket. Then I set up my picture and bam! the proposal. It was really nice.
My parents and I had to keep the secret for almost a month, and the only reason I knew about was because I was about to book a Europe trip over his wedding date. Since hearing the news I have been having some serious wedding fever and I can’t wait to hear some of their plans.
I absolutely love whimsical spring weddings, but I am also a huge fan of black and white wedding colors because I think it looks so classic. My dress is actually from K Couture, which specializes in wedding party formal wear. Everything there is made to order, 100% customize-able, and made in the good ol’ USA. Plus they have free shipping, and I had a pretty awesome experience with them. My one tip is that since everything is made to order and you can customize whatever you want, take advantage of that. Be extremely specific about what you want, and also take advantage of their great customer service. I say this because I expected my dress to have a slightly lower waistline and to hit at the knee because that was how it looked on the model. But it fit me a little differently, so I say…tell them exactly what you want and they will make it for you! Pretty cool.

So fun, glad you could be there for your little brother, and that you will not be in Europe on his big day! hehe 😛 Since doing so many wedding invitations I have let myself buy a few bridal magazines for "inspiration" – sounds official right?! hehe One of my best friends is moving to Taiwan and when she gets there she'll get married.
